The Mower County Historical Society invites the public to bring a lunch Thursday and enjoy the May installment of the 2013 Lunchbox History Series.

At noon, local historian and retired teacher Polly Jelinek will talk about what life was like in a country school. Jelinek brings real life experience into her stories about teaching in a country school, including what curriculum was taught, how it was taught and even a few stories about mischievous students.

The Lunchbox History Series takes place the fourth Thursday of each month through September. For more information, contact the historical society at 507-437-6082 or visit www.mowercountyhistory.org.
