After speaking with human services and school employees, a detective arrested an Austin man for allegedly assaulting a young boy.

The officer arrested Tyler Turner, 26, on May 15. Turner was charged May 17 and pleaded not guilty on Thursday to domestic assault and malicious punishment of a child, both felonies.

According to the court complaint, the victim said Turner spanked and slapped him, grabbed his neck and shoved him down a hallway. The victim said Turner also elbowed him in the midsection, said he would knock him out and told him not to tell his mother. The officer photographed red marks and bruises on the child.

According to the complaint, Turner said the victim bumped heads with another person.
