Self-Advocates Minnesota, a network of leadership by and for people with developmental disabilities, is hosting its annual Southeastern Minnesota Conference from noon to 9 p.m. June 22 at St. Olaf Church in Austin. This year’s conference is a Hawaiian theme. There will be a dinner, dance, door prizes and other activities.

Workshops at the conference include dressing for success, relationships and cyber bullying. This conference is designed to promote and celebrate self-advocacy in the State of Minnesota and encourages people with developmental disabilities to have a voice, stand up for themselves, build their independence and self-determination and advocate for support for themselves and others.

The cost is $35 per self-advocate and $15 for support staff. There are scholarship funds available to assist with cost for self-advocates thanks to a grant from the Minnesota DD Council. To register or for further information, contact Melissa Evans at 507-287-2032 or Melissa@arcse-mn.org.
