Betty A. Kolpin, 85, of Austin, Minn., died Wednesday, June 5, 2013, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Home.

Betty Ann Johnson was born Sept. 7, 1927, in Austin to Paul and Blanche (Christianson) Johnson. She attended Austin Public Schools, and then worked as a high school secretary, a secretary for Milwaukee School of Engineering and Ellis Junior High secretary. On June 5, 1948, she married Donald Kolpin in Austin. A member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church, Betty enjoyed reading, doing puzzles, camping and traveling. She was an artist and especially enjoyed painting. She was a member of the Austin Art Club. Betty especially treasured her kids and grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Donald R. Kolpin of Austin; her children, Rodney A. (Vickie) Kolpin of Waseca, Minn., Wendy S. (David) Winders of Ankeny, Iowa, and Mary J. (Jeffrey) Rugg of Stevens Point, Wis.; five grandchildren, Garrett (Amanda) Kolpin, Tyler Kolpin, Molly (Brian) Kant, Jaime Rugg, Morgan Rugg; one great-granddaughter, Elise Kolpin. She was preceded in death by her parents Paul and Blanche Johnson.

A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, June 8, 2013, at the Worlein Funeral Home Chapel in Austin with the Rev. Karen Behling officiating. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Austin.
