On Tuesday, the Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin speech-language pathologists Julia Meverden and Michelle Soukup will present at the Senior Center.

They will explain what speech-language pathologists do and what kinds of medical conditions or communication difficulties we work with such as stroke, swallowing concerns (dysphagia) or brain injury.

They will describe types of therapy and how it can assist communication. We will also discuss how you can get an appointment with speech therapy.

If you are caring for someone with difficulties listed above this is a great class for you. Every little bit helps you understand what your loved one may be going through.
