Jamey Jon Andersen, 41, of Austin, Minn., died at Mayo Health Systems in Austin Monday, June 24, 2013.
Jamey was born Jan. 17, 1972, to Vicky Andersen in Austin, where he grew up and graduated from high school in 1990. After his marriage to Lisa Marlene Miller on May 25, 1991, in Austin, they made their home in Bixby, Okla., for a short time before returning to Austin. Jamey was employed by Hormel Foods Corp. from 1995 until 2002 and helped his wife, Lisa, with Emotions Floral on Main Street in Austin during that same time. Later he worked at Precision Signs and most recently at Nelson Sound. A member of Grace Lutheran Church, Jamey enjoyed watching hockey and football, driving muscle cars (especially his Pontiac GTO) and participating in the demo derby. He was a loving father, son, husband, brother, uncle, grandson and friend. We were blessed to have him in our lives, and the world was a better place with him.
Survivors include his sons, Alex Andersen and Adam Andersen; mother, Vicky (Micheal) Arndt; sister, Andrea (Michael) Farr, all of Austin; grandmother, Donna Andersen of Austin; nephews, Riley Nelson and Liam Farr; aunts; uncles, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lisa, on July 10, 2002; grandfather, Merle Andersen; and aunt Julie Andersen McGuire.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 29, 2013, at Grace Lutheran Church with the Rev. Jeff Forbes officiating. Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m., Friday at Worlein Funeral Home in Austin and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment is at Oakwood Cemetery in Austin.
