One piece of art will worthy of the city’s purchase award this weekend at the Austin Area Art Center.

The 28th annual Festival Art Show will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. this Sunday, and a $500 city purchase award will go to the best piece of art for sale. Monetary awards will also be distributed in professional, pro-am and amateur categories, as well.

The awards ceremony will be at 2 p.m. during the reception, held in honor of the winners and all other participants. The art exhibit will remain on display until Sunday, July 28.
