Woman arrested for driving while high

An Austin woman will soon face charges after she was arrested for driving while allegedly high on heroin.
According to the Austin Police report, the 19-year-old driver showed several signs of impairment and was leaving the 700 block of Fourth Street Northwest when officers arrived at 3:20 a.m. Sunday. Officers were able to stop the suspect, who reportedly admitted to using heroin and showed signs of several injection sites.
Police took the woman to the Mower County jail, where she awaits formal charges.
Police tested a substance that was in the vehicle, and it tested positive for heroin, they said. They also found drug paraphernalia and syringes.
Disturbance leads to five citations, two arrests
Five people received citations Sunday night, two of whom were arrested, after a domestic disturbance.
Austin police went to the 1400 block of Eighth Avenue Northwest just before 6 a.m. Sunday, where five people were involved in an altercation. According to the police report, an 18-year-old man was threatening one of the suspects with a butcher knife. Each suspect could face charges for disorderly conduct.
The 18-year-old and a 21-year-old man were placed in the Mower County jail.
