Firefighters are looking to give the boot to Muscular Dystrophy.

Austin are taking the initiative this week from 3 to 7 p.m., Wednesday to Friday, in an effort to raise funds for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

They will stand in the streets of four local intersections and ask motorists to help fill a boot with money, with proceeds going to sponsor health care services, equipment support, summer camps and research projects for local residents suffering with neuromuscular diseases.
