The annual Dad’s Belgian Waffle Breakfast will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday Sept. 15 at the Mower County Senior Center.

Advance tickets are $7 for adults or $5j for children ages 6-12. Children 5 and under are free

Tickets at the are $8 adults and $6 for children ages 6-12 Children 5 and under are still free.

 Volunteers needed for bowling tourney

Volunteers are needed at the Area 10 Bowling Tournament at Echo Lanes in Austin on Oct. 12.

Opportunities include lane monitors, team registration, awards and meal servers. All volunteers will receive training the day of the event and a T-shirt.

Sign up for Special Olympics Bowling

Get ready for some strikes, good friends and fun memories, because it is time once again for bowling.

Special Olympic Bowlers must have a current Special Olympics form on file at The Arc Mower County. These forms must be updated every three years and require a physician’s signature.

Athletes will not be allowed to participate in the practices or competitions without an updated form.  Bowling will be held from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Wednesdays from Sept. 11 through March 19, 2014 at Echo Lanes in Austin.

The season cost is $20 for members or $24 for non-members. Scholarships are available. Tournaments will be held in October (Austin) and November (Lakeville).
