The Riverland men’s soccer team played defending conference champion Anoka-Ramsey C.C. with a squad limited by injuries. Despite playing well, the overmatched Blue Devils lost to the Rams 6-0.
Riverland managed only two shots in the contest, neither of which challenged Anoka-Ramsey’s keeper. In contrast, Blue Devil goalie Juan Montealegre faced 33 shots, 19 on target. The freshman keeper parried away 11 of those, with his post stopping two more.
Riverland (1-4-1 overall) committed three fouls that resulted in penalty kicks. Montealegre made a sparkling diving save to his right to stop one, and his post saved him on a second.
