A 10-mile stretch of U.S. Highway 63 will receive a touch-up next summer, Minnesota Department of Transportation representatives said during a picnic in Racine on Wednesday night.
A section of the Highway from the intersection at State Highway 16, just south of Deer Creek Speedway, all the way to Stewartville in Olmsted County, will be repaved. Motorists will have to use a detour to the west to travel past the Racine area, according to a MnDOT map, using county roads that angle toward Grand Meadow. The project is scheduled to start next June and last several weeks.
