Janice J. Wagaman, 67

The funeral service for Janice J. Wagaman, 67, of Dexter, Minn. will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013, at Zion Lutheran Church in  rural Dexter, Minn., with Rev. Donald Gerven officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Janice died on Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013, at her home, from complications of congestive heart failure.

Wagaman

Janice Jeanette Miller was born on Nov. 17, 1945, in Austin, Minn., to Harold and Alice (Anderson) Miller. She grew up on the family farm in rural Dexter, attended country school at District 111 schoolhouse and then Hayfield schools, graduating from Hayfield High Sschool in 1963. Janice was married on Jan. 3, 1964, at Zion Lutheran Church in Dexter to Gene E. Wagaman. Following their marriage the couple lived in Owatonna and then farmed in rural Dexter on the Wagaman Family farm. They lived in St. Charles for a number of years before moving to Worthington, Minn. They were later divoriced. Janice was a homemaker and was employed as a dispatcher for the Nobles County Sheriff Department while living in Worthington. She was a past member of Zion Lutheran Church in rural Dexter and the Bible Church in St. Charles and Leroy, Minn., where she was active in their Awana programs and with other child evangelism programs. She was a member of  the Chrisitian Womens Club in Worthington, Rochester and Austin. She enjoyed reading, family vacations, boating, growing and arranging flowers, Chrisitian music and her faithful dog Nougie. Janice loved time spent with family, especially her grandchildren and great grand-daughter.

Janice is survived by three daughters; Tamara (Kevin) Burke of Spearfish, S.D.; Kimberly (Bruce) McNamee of Levittown, Pa.; Renee (Curt) Meyer of Columbia Heights, Minn.; her mother, Mrs. Alice Miller of rural Dexter; two sisters: Judy(Lee) Pearce of Hammond, Minn. and Kathy “P.T.” (Mark) Thorsen of Hayfield; eight grandchildren: Zachary(Jamie) Burke, Riley Burke, Brad McNamee, Hope, Grace and Cole McNamee, Ethan Meyer and Mackenzie Meyer and her great grand-daughter,- Adilyn. She was preceded in death by her father, Harold Miller.

Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 13, 2013, at Griffin-Gray F.H. in Stewartville and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday morning. The family suggests memorials to Wycliff Bible Translators.
