Funeral Services for Steven B. Dulitz, of Albert Lea, Minn., will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 19,  2013, at Central Freeborn Lutheran Church, rural Albert  Lea. The Rev. Matthew Griggs will officiate. Interment will be in Central Freeborn Lutheran Cemetery. Military Honors will be accorded by Albert Lea Veteran’s Organizations. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday at Bonnerup Funeral Service, Albert Lea, and one hour before the service at the church.

Steven died early Monday morning, Sept. 16, at Good Samaritan Society, Albert Lea, after struggling with Alzheimer’s disease and recently being diagnosed with cancer.  He was 70.

Special thanks to Mayo Clinic Health System — Albert Lea Hospice and Good Samaritan Society for all their tender loving care these past few days. Steven was born on May 1, 1943, in Albert Lea the son of Roland and Priscilla (Tapp) Dulitz. Steven graduated from Albert Lea High School and then proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy from 1961 to 1965.

He was united in marriage to Sharon Wilder on Jan. 14, 1978, at Central Freeborn Lutheran Church. Steven drove truck for Barry Jacobson for more than 32 years  before retiring. He was a member of the Central Freeborn Lutheran Church, the American Legion and volunteer for Manchester Fire Department for several years.

He enjoyed time at Leech Lake, going to Vegas to watch bull riding, fishing and hunting. He was always worried about everyone else and his greatest enjoyment came from spending time with his family.

He will be greatly missed by his wife Sharon, of Albert Lea, children: Deb (Steven) Brehmer of Austin, Minn., Brenda (Marlyn) Hinrichs of Goodhue; John (Kimberly) Dulitz of Austin; Jessica Dulitz of Alden and Matthew (Sarah) Dulitz of Alden; grandchildren: Drake and Stephany Brehmer of Austin; Blake and Breanna Hinrichs of Goodhue; Ethan Dulitz of Austin; Patrick and Tiffany Rose of Alden; Lily, Jacob, Olivia and Lucas Dulitz of Alden; brother Richard (Alice) Dulitz of Owatonna, father-in-law and mother-in-law Marvin and Mary Ann Wilder of Albert Lea; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Donna Dulitz of Albert Lea; Richard Wilder of Alden, Carol and Dave Colby of Owatonna; Linda and Bob Christensen of Hartland, Minn.; and Gordon and Robyn Wilder of Northwood, Iowa; several aunts, uncles,  nieces, nephews and cousins.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents Roland and Priscilla Dulitz; brothers Everett and Harold “Kenny”  Dulitz and sister-in-law Evelyn Dulitz.

Family and friends will find comfort in Steven’s words: “I’ll be fine!”
