NFL Picks: Browns have officially thrown the towel

Here are the picks:
Kansas City at Philadelphia
It’s sure to be an emotional night for Andy Reid. He’s going back to his old stadium with his new team and I’m sure he’d like nothing more than to beat the Eagles in their own house.
Too things working against Reid are the Thursday night schedule and the fact that KC hasn’t done much on the ground yet this season.
You can only rely on Alex Smith carrying your rushing attack for so long, and the short week gives the home squad a significant advantage.
EAGLES 28, CHIEFS 20
Green Bay at Cincinnati
Aaron Rodgers has been on fire to start this season and Jordy Nelson is looking like his old self again. The Packers’ secondary is still a mess, but lucky for them, Andy Dalton isn’t the quarterback who is going to completely expose it.
Still, the Bengals will have plenty of offense to make it close.
PACKERS 35, BENGALS 31
St. Louis at Dallas
The Cowboys haven’t proven much so far, but this is a home game that shouldn’t be too much trouble for them.
COWBOYS 27, RAMS 13
San Diego at Tennessee
Phillip Rivers is back to his old ways of being a good quarterback and the Titans have played some solid defense this season.
CHARGERS 25, TITANS 17
Cleveland at Minnesota
Note to the Browns: It’s probably not a good message to your fans when you trade away your franchise running back and announce your third string quarterback is going to be starting in a span of two days.
Its clear Cleveland wants the No. 1 pick, can they just be forced to forfeit the rest of their games to avoid injuries to teams that are actually trying to win?
VIKINGS 34, BROWNS 3
Tampa Bay and New England
The Bucs have lost two games they probably should’ve won. The Patriots have won two games they probably should’ve lost.
I expect that trend to continue.
PATRIOTS 20, BUCS 17
Arizona at New Orleans
The Saints haven’t been blowing people away with their offense yet, but their defense has been much improved.
SAINTS 31, CARDINALS 21
Detroit at Washington
Robert Griffin III has heard people say all week that he should be benched and that he wasn’t ready to come back. I call that fuel and great players respond well to criticism.
REDSKINS 34, LIONS 31
N.Y. Giants at Carolina
The Panthers still can’t close games and it’s got to be getting in their heads. The Giants aren’t happy to be 0-2, but they’ve come back from worse starts than this before.
GIANTS 24, PANTHERS 13
Houston at Baltimore
The Texans are 2-0 by the skin of their teeth. The Ravens are still the defending champs and I expect them to play like it this week.
RAVENS 17, TEXANS 13
Atlanta at Miami
I don’t want to jinx them, but maybe Miami is that team that sneaks up on people this year. There’s nothing flashy about them, but 2-0 is 2-0. We’ll find out how legit they are this week.
DOLPHINS 21, FALCONS 14
Buffalo at N.Y. Jets
EJ Manuel showed a lot of emotion after his game-winning TD pass last week. Although Manuel should’ve been flagged for taking his helmet off in celebration, it was refreshing to see a player breaking down into tears of joy instead of pointing at his jersey number or doing some terrible dance.
BILLS 23, JETS 20
Indianapolis at San Francisco
The 49ers were left licking their chops after a Sunday night beatdown at the hands of their division rivals. Jim Harbaugh will have this team ready to play.
The Colts will have a much different look on offense when Trent Richardson catches up on things, but I don’t expect him to be fully involved in his first game with his new team.
49ERS 38, COLTS 24
Jacksonville at Seattle
This is the most lopsided matchup of the week.
SEAHAWKS 41, JAGUARS 3
Chicago at Pittsburgh
The Steelers will be on the national spotlight at home. This could be their ‘last stand’ and I expect them to go out fighting.
BEARS 20, STEELERS 19
Oakland at Denver
Peyton Manning will continue to dominate until the games have a little more meaning behind them.
BRONCOS 42, RAIDERS 17
Last week: 12-4; overall: 22-10
