The Riverside Figure Skating Club is preparing to lace up its skates and hit the ice.
The fall session begins 12:30 p.m. this Sunday, Sept. 22, at Riverside Arena.
Alexa-Dolan Peterson, club board member, encourages anyone with an interest in skating to come Sunday. “We invite anyone who is interested in skating or learning to skate to come to Riverside Arena on Sunday and sign up for the fall session,” she said in a press release. “Your first lesson is free. We have a great facility and personal instruction with a professional coach, but recognize some are hesitant to put on skates. This is the perfect opportunity to try it out.”
Skates will be available to anyone who does not have a pair.
The Riverside Figure Skating Club has been a part of the Austin landscape for 40 years. The club has seen many changes over the years but one that hasn’t changed is how much fun skating is.
The fall session runs from Sept. 22 through Nov. 11 with winter and show sessions to follow. Registration starts at 12:30 p.m., with beginner skaters taking to the ice at 1 p.m.
