Author, speaker to elaborate about Bible in Albert Lea
Published 10:15 am Friday, October 4, 2013
Author and speaker Josh McDowell will speak at Sojourners Church, Sunday, Oct. 6. At 10:30 a.m., he will discuss the topic, “Is the Bible we have now, what they wrote then?”
McDowell will bring with him a newly acquired Lotz scroll that contains the entire Torah—totally intact and 72 feet long. McDowell will demonstrate how ancient biblical scrolls were created and meticulously preserved and how a biblical scroll literally becomes a living experience of the faith and life of a community.
Well known as an articulate speaker, McDowell has addressed more than 25 million people, giving more than 26,000 talks in 125 countries. McDowell has written or co-authored 138 books including: New Evidence That Demands a Verdict and More Than a Carpenter.
In 1961, McDowell joined the staff of Campus Crusade for Christ International (now called Cru). Not long after, he started the Josh McDowell Ministry to share the essentials of the Christian faith in everyday language so people of all ages and stages are prepared for the life of faith and work of ministry.
The event is open to the public and free. Sojourners Church is located on the south side of the Skyline Mall, across from Sibley Elementary. Join us at 10 a.m. for a time of fellowship and an opportunity to meet McDowell. Quality childcare will be available for children younger than five. For questions, contact Shelley at 507-213-4926.
