The United Way of Mower County is getting a few mittens to go along with its annual outerwear drive.

The Mitten Project is donating mittens to the coat drive and will present them to the United Way of Mower County at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15 at the Oak Park Mall’s center court.

The Mitten Project is a nonprofit organization that creates mittens for those in need from sweaters that have outworn their welcome in the closets of the world. Its mission is two-fold: to repurpose and recycle and to do good deeds for others.
