It can be tough to find a good local party spot for children, according to Ronaldo Cantu.
That’s what he and several family members have thought for the past several years. Yet Cantu, his brother Ernesto, sister-in-law Yami, sister Sandra Byers and brother-in-law Joe Byers, found it was the right time to open up their own family-friendly entertainment center, which is what they did this fall.
Party Zone Entertainment, inside Oak Park Mall, opened Sept. 1.
“As family members, every time we had a party, we were always trying to figure out where to have it,” Ronaldo said.
According to Ronaldo, the family had discussed opening an entertainment center for years, but didn’t act upon it until this spring.
“One day we were revisiting the idea, and we thought this seems to be the right time,” Ronaldo said.
After about six months of work, Party Zone Entertainment opened last month to a lot of demand.
“We’ve been very busy,” Sandra said.
Party Zone Entertainment has a few free games for children, including air hockey, mini-soccer, mini-basketball, and a bean bag toss among other things. A foosball table, arcade games, pool table, bouncy houses and more are also available.
Party Zone Entertainment is open every day of the week, from noon to 7 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. Daily admission is $2 for children 2 and younger, $4 for children 2 to 5 years old, $8 for children 8 to 12 years old, and $5 for adults. Adults are excluded from bouncing on bouncy houses.
Rolando said the business is working on a grand opening soon. For more information, including Party Zone Entertainment party rates, go to Party Zone Entertainment’s Facebook page.
