The memorial service for David Clair Way will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov.12, 2013, at the United Methodist Church, 100 Pleasant Street SE in Brownsdale, Minn., with Reverend Sharon Goetzinger officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church.
David Clair Way, 70, passed away on Thursday evening, Nov. 7, 2013, at his home in Brownsdale.
David Clair Way was born on Sept. 9, 1943, the son of Vernon and Dorothy (Buckmaster) Way in Reading Township, Calhoun County, Iowa. He attended high school in Kenyon, Minn., and farmed and worked at the Coop Fertilizer Plant in Kenyon. He moved to Plano, Texas, and worked in the school system as a custodian. He later moved to Jefferson, Iowa, and worked as a truck driver for Northrop King. He was united in marriage to Jean Olness on Sept. 28, 1985, in Panora, Iowa. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, gardening and yard work.
David is survived by his wife, Jean Way, of Brownsdale; children, Jim (Mardell) Way, of Kenyon; Scott (Kim) Way, of Cologne; Pete Way, of Oklahoma City, Okla.; Travis (Paula) Way, of Kenyon; Jon (Sarah) Way, of Chanhassen, Minn.; Brent Way, of Fargo, N.D.; Rocky (Lisa) Boehmke, of Copeville, Texas; Randy (Lisa) Boehmke, of Wichita, Kan.; Craig (Ramona) Gwin, of Brownsdale; Roger (Jessie) Allen, of Kenyon; Kelly Allen, of Faribault, Minn.; Joe (Sarah) Allen, of Faribault; 28 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Gus (Cynthia) Way, of Springfield, Neb. He was preceded in death by his parents and two grandchildren.
