Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall announced Laura Hanson, daughter of Susan VanPelt of Austin, was selected to receive a Leadership Award Scholarship for the 2014-2015 academic year. Recipients of this scholarship are recognized for their academic accomplishments and outstanding leadership abilities. She is majoring in early childhood education.
