Kathryn Joan Stolzenberg, 63, of Lake City, Minn., died peacefully with her family by her side on Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester.
Kathy was born Nov. 29, 1949, in Austin, Minn., to LeVerne and Beryl (Johnson) Madson. She married Thomas Stolzenberg in Austin St. at Augusta Catholic Church on March 15, 1969. After the wedding, they made their home in Stacyville, Iowa, until Tom took a job which moved them to Lake City. Kathy held multiple jobs over the course of her life, most of which were in the medical field. Her last job was working for Ryan Repair in Lake City, a job she held for 13 years and one that she truly loved. She enjoyed reading, camping and playing on the computer, but her favorite pastime was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Kathy is survived by husband Tom; three sons, Brett (Christina), of Sauk Rapids, Minn.; Neil (Kristie), of Lake City; and Adam (Kati), of St. Louis, Mo. She is also survived by her seven beloved grandchildren, Jacob, Samuel, Zachary, Sydnee, Lauryn, Will, and Maggie; mother, Beryl, of Austin; brothers Lloyd (Laurel) Madson, of Austin; and Alan Madson, of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and sisters, Sandy (Sam) Heard, of Austin; and Laurie Rosas, of Clearwater, Minn. She was preceded in death by her father, LeVerne.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15, at First Lutheran Church in Lake City with Pastor Darren Paulson officiating. Friends and family may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, at The Mahn Family Funeral Home Anderson-Peterson Chapel Lake City. Friends may also call one hour before the service at the church.
