Riley Leith Brown, 77, of Austin, Minn., died Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013, peacefully at home after a long illness.
Riley was born Feb. 15, 1936, in Montevideo, Minn., to Riley and Alma Brown. On Sept. 22, 1956, he was united in marriage to Rosemary Belden in Austin where they raised their family.
Riley was an over-the-road truck driver most of his life. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family and friends.
Riley was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Rosemary Brown, of Austin; son, Chuck (Shelly) Brown, of Hayfield, Minn.; son, Rick (Sue) Brown, of Austin; daughter, Mary (John) Champa, of Chisholm, Minn.; daughter, Cindy (Tom) Mattson, of Albertville, Minn.; special sister-in-law, Deb (Byron) Gardner, of Andover, Minn.; son-in-law, Dan Haymon, of Garland, Texas; 20 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; brother, Forrest (Lola) Brown, of Albert Lea, Minn.; sister, Dody (Dennis) Ferch, of Owatonna, Minn.; sister, Darlene (Charlie) Clifton, of Denver, N.C.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Riley and Alma; brother and sister-in-law, Francis and Barb Brown; daughter, Vicky Haymon; infant son, Thomas Riley Brown; two grandchildren.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013, at St. Augustine Catholic Church with Father Jim Steffes officiating. There will be a 6:30 p.m. wake service on Friday at Mayer Funeral Home where friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. and also one hour before the service at the church on Saturday. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
