Roger Ray Trask, 62, died on Dec. 19, 2013, at the Veterans Hospital in Seattle, Wash., from cancer.
Roger was born in Charles City, Iowa, to Raymond Trask and Ruth Trask Collette on Nov. 6, 1951. He attended school in Buckner, Mo., where his father passed away, and then moved to Austin and graduated in 1971. He then went into the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He married Mary Ross and had two children, Peggy Young and Valeri Declue. They divorced and he then worked in Duluth, later moving to Tacoma, Wash., in 1994.
He found he had cancer in 2006, and has had several free years until 2013, where he has been treated at the Veterans Hospital in Seattle.
He leaves his daughters, Peggy Young, and Valeri Declue; four grandchildren; his mother, Ruth Collette; sister, Pamela (Darrell) Meyer; and many nieces and nephews, friends both in Austin and Tacoma.
There will be no local service. He will be laid to rest at the Fort Snelling National Cemetery at a later date.
