Donald G. Beckman, 95, formerly of Waltham, Minn., died Monday, Jan. 6, 2014, at Prairie Manor Care Center in Blooming Prairie, Minn.

Donald was born Jan. 18, 1918, in Udolpho Township, Mower County, Minn., to Julius and Anna (Boelk) Beckman. A lifelong Waltham area resident, Donald was a meticulous farmer and operator of his trucking business. He took great pride in his work, and caring for his land. He enjoyed playing solitaire, watching TV, talking on the phone to those special to him, and was a lifelong member of St. Michael’s Lutheran Church rural Waltham.
Survivors include his brother Raymond, formerly of Waltham; special niece, Sandy (Doug) Novak, of Blooming Prairie; niece, Janet (Daryl) Gehlbach, nephew Ron (Linda) Beckman. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Viola (Ben) Gilderhus, Gertrude (Elger) Steinbach; sister-in-law, Irene Beckman.
