The Austin girls basketball team put together an impressive late rally, but it wasn’t enough in a 63-62 loss at Waseca (6-6 overall) Saturday.

The Packers (3-7 overall) trailed by 11 with 2:30 left in the game and they were down seven with 1:09 left but they battled back to tie it up at 62-62 with seven seconds left.

Waseca drew a foul on its last possession and hit one of two free throws to win the game.

Mer Gach led Austin, which has now lost six straight, with 24 points.
