Rumpza becomes BP’s all-time leading scorer in win over NRHEG

Blooming Prairie junior center John Rumpza hit a major milestone as he led the Awesome Blossoms to a 69-56 win over New Richland-HEG (11-4 overall, 5-2 Gopher) in BP Friday.
Rumpza became BP’s all-time leading scorer as he finished with 23 points, 19 rebounds and seven assists as BP (8-5 overall, 3-3 Gopher) snapped a three-game losing skid.
“This was a big win for us,” BP head coach John Bruns said. “NRHEG is a very good team and shoots the ball extremely well.”
BP led by as many as 21 and the Panthers never got closer than eight in the second half.
Rumpza now has 1,307 career points and he passes Matt Zellmer, who finished his BP career with 1,297 points.
