Austin crowns top spellers

I.J. Holton Intermediate School student Jackson Goetz won the Austin Public Schools District Spelling Bee Tuesday.
Pictured are the top three finishers in the Austin School District-wide spelling bee held Tuesday morning at Ellis Middle School. The champion was fifth-grader Jackson Goetz, from right, second place was eighth-grader William Campbell and third place was seventh-grader Eleanor Hinchcliffe.
Following Goetz were Ellis Middle School students William Campbell and Eleanor Hinchcliffe in second and third place, respectively. All three advance to the Regional Spelling Bee at Southeast Service Cooperative in Rochester at 9 a.m. Feb. 11.
