Ikes president to speak about N.D. oil effects

The Jay C. Hormel Nature Center is taking a look at oil development in North Dakota.
A presentation titled “Domestic Energy Development Benefits: At What Cost? Bakken Oil Field Observations” will be held at the Ruby Rupner Auditorium at the Jay C. Hormel Nature Center at 7 p.m. Monday.
Barry Drazkowski will discuss the effects of the development of the North Dakota Bakken oil fields, interviews with a variety of stakeholders on the impact of the development, and a summary of his recent visit to numerous development sites, impacted parks and private ranches.
Drazkowski is president of the Minnesota division of the Isaak Walton league, and he’s the former executive director of Geo Spatial Services at St. Mary’s University.
