Austin’s Community Home Improvement Project — a partnership of the Austin Housing and Redevelopment Authority, Freeborn-Mower Habitat for Humanity and Vision 2020 Community Pride and Spirit — has been honored for ‘Affiliate Best Practices’ by Minnesota Habitat for Humanity.
CHIP uses labor from Riverland carpentry students to improve dilapidated houses and get them back into the community.
Plans for this year are to expand by serving more homeowners. Volunteer labor will be, so both skilled and unskilled volunteers can contact Brigette Campbell at Freeborn-Mower Habitat for Humanity 507-433-1349 for more information.
