The annual Paint the Rink Pink game is a sellout again.
The Austin Bruins announced their game at 7:05 p.m. Saturday against Aberdeen sold out Monday.
The Paint the Rink game is typically the only sellout of the year for the Bruins, but the New Year’s Eve game traditionally gets close, according to Reese Anderson, the Bruins’ director of marketing and promotions.
As of early Monday afternoon, there were only about 30 tickets left, and they all sold by the end of the day.
Anderson noted if people weren’t able to get tickets to the game, they still can attend the Bruins Family Fun Event at the 1910 event center (formerly El Parral Ballroom) from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
The Bruins team will be at the event, and there will be bouncy houses, raffle tickets, T-shirt sales and more. All money will go toward the overall Paint the Rink total.
“It’s just another way for us to raise some money,” Anderson said.
The fourth Paint the Rink game will be similar to previous years, with the Bruins auctioning players’ jerseys after the game. The Bruins will feature something new: a performance by Molly Kestner and a memorial video during the first intermission. People can send in photos to be part of the memorial video by emailing text@austinbruins.com by 3 p.m. Thursday.
Anderson, who’s in his first year with the Bruins, said he’s been impressed to see how Paint the Rink Pink Pink has evolved into Paint the Town Pink.
“It’s pretty cool to come in and see how far it’s grown,” he said.
The Bruins are also playing Aberdeen at 7:05 p.m. Friday at Riverside.
