Anton R. Klouse Jr., 87, was born Nov. 26, 1926, in Austin, Minn., and passed away at home in Sarcoxie, M., with hospice at 1:33 a.m. on Dec. 18, 2013.
He is survived by wife, Deborah G. Klouse; two brothers, Marvin Klouse of Austin; and Ervin Klouse, of Mason City, Iowa; four children, David and Debbie Klouse, of The Colony, Texas; Linda and Terry Buerge, of Grove, Okla.; Doyle D. Klouse, of Wentworth, Mo.; and Doug and Patty Klouse, of Carthage, Mo.; stepsons, Brian and Melinda DePreste and Charles and Mary DePreste, of Sarcoxie; 17 grandchildren; 10 step grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two step great-grandchildren.
He served eight years of honest and faithful service in the U.S. Navy; stationed at USNT San Diego, Calif., on the USS Montross. He was part owner of Western Bar & Pawn Shop, Joplin, and a member of VFW Post 2590 of Carthage, MO.
Full Military Honor burial will be in Park Cemetery, Carthage, at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 20. Memorial service will follow at his church, Sarcoxie River of Life. Both will be officiated by Pastors Sherman and Alice Burros. Lunch will follow.
