Wilma K. Weness, 88

Wilma Kathryn Weness, 88, of Adams, Minn., died on Sunday Feb. 16, at St. Mary’s Hospital, Rochester.
She was born Oct. 8, 1925, in rural Grand Meadow the daughter of William and Rachel (Julson) Hardecopf. Wilma graduated from the Adams High School and was married to Selmer Weness on June 12, 1945. Wilma was a lifelong area resident and farmed with her husband, Selmer (Sally) until 1978. She was employed by Wagner’s Super Value for 18 years and was active in church activities through the Women of ELCA, her Circle and with quilting. She was a charter board member of Friends and Fellowship. Wilma served on the Adams Health Care Auxiliary and enjoyed family gatherings, baking and cooking and crocheting.
Survivors include her five children, Karen (Richard) Doughan of Waukee, Iowa.; Shirley (Randy) Sammons of Atlanta, Ga.; Gary (Angie) of North Branch, Minn.; BJ (Laura) of Blue Earth, Minn.; Mark (Cher) of Adams; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a sister, Pearl Finseth of Fountain, Minn.; two brothers, Lloyd (Alice) Hardecopf of LeRoy, Minn.; and Neil Hardecopf of Holmen, Wis. Wilma was preceded in death by her husband, Selmer; her parents and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, at Little Cedar Lutheran Church, Adams, with the Rev. Jeremy Johnson officiating. Interment will be at the Little Cedar Cemetery. Visitation will be at Adams Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21, and at the church for one hour before the service on Saturday.
