Schminke running in 27B

Local Republican Dennis Schminke has made it official: He will oppose Jeanne Poppe, DFL-Austin, for her state representative 27B seat this November.

Schminke will make the announcement at Piggy Blues BBQ, 323 N Main St., at 4:15 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 27.
He told the Herald on Feb. 5 he was considering a run for the seat.
The endorsing convention will be held 9 a.m. Saturday, March 8 at the Mower County Senior Center in Austin, immediately preceding the Mower County GOP’s annual convention.
