The YMCA of Austin celebrated its 24th annual Y’s Healthy Kids Day on March 22.

It was a free community event to inspire more kids to keep their minds and bodies active. YMCA’s Healthy Kids Day is the Y’s national initiative to improve family health and well-being, featuring games, healthy snack making, arts and crafts and more to motivate and teach families how to develop a healthy routine at home.

Austin Bruins players were on hand to play some floor hockey with the kids along with pictures and autographs. There were more than 250 kids and parents or grandparents who attended the event. Y’s Healthy Kids Day helps to remind American’s that they too can be a part of the solution in their community — strengthening bonds, building positive values, spending time together, improving the health and well-being of their family and making friends for life — making an impact of change for themselves and their community.

Your time was greatly appreciated and helped make the event a success.
