Evelyn L. Loucks, 97, of Adams, Minn., formerly of Rose Creek, Minn., died Thursday, April 10, 2014, at the Adams Health Care Center.

Evelyn Louise Breitzman was born March 18, 1917, in Lura Township, Grant County, S.D., the daughter of Ernest and Emma (Selchert) Breitzman. She attended country school at Lura Township.

Evelyn married Raymond Franklin Loucks on April 14, 1947, at Mankato, Minn. The Loucks farmed in the Dexter area until retiring and moving into Rose Creek in 1969.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Dexter Township where she served as a Sunday school teacher. Evelyn was a 4-H leader and she enjoyed crocheting, sewing and gardening. She was a wonderful cook and she loved to bake and decorate cakes. She also liked to play Scrabble and read. Evelyn was known for writing letters and Christmas cards and she had a great love for birds and animals.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Raymond Loucks in 1981.

Evelyn is survived by her sons, Michael Loucks, Rochester, Minn.; Benjamin (Nan) Loucks, St. Paul, Minn.; daughters: Neoma (Dan) Gregor, Circle Pines, Minn.; Rachel Loucks Fenicle, Chicago; four grandchildren: Jayson, Heidi, Keith and Ted Jr.; six great-grandchildren: Andrew, Sean, Katelyn, Morgan, Madison and Mathew; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 15, at the Clasen-Jordan Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. David Fleischmann officiating. Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary for one hour before the service on Tuesday morning.
