Finally. AACA secures lease to bank building

We have officially secured the lease for 300 N Main St., otherwise known as the bank building, for the new Austin ArtWorks Center.
Special thank you to Andrew Kepper for working through the rental lease negotiations with Patrick Bradley on our behalf.
In signing the lease, the official capital campaign has kicked off. We need $600,000 to cover all the costs in opening the Center and have raised $350,000.
Therefore we need your help to raise $250,000 more. Our goal is to have Joseph Company start construction by May 1 to stay on schedule to have a grand opening on Aug. 21.

The Human Rights Film Festival is taking place at the Historic Paramount Theatre this Thursday through Saturday.
They will have Lia Culbert from “Mission 21” available for discussion after “Not For Sale” at 7 p.m. on Thursday.
John Gutterman from the Advocates for Human Rights will introduce “abUSed: The Postville Iowa Raid” at 7 p.m. on Friday and will be available for discussion afterwards.
On Saturday, April 26, the festival will conclude with “The Adventures of Milo and Otis” at 2 p.m. and “Boys Don’t Cry” at 7 p.m. For a complete schedule visit the Human Rights Commission our Facebook page.
