Man faces possible charges for meth possession

An Austin man is in Mower County Jail after a traffic stop lead officers to find methamphetamines.

According to Austin Police Chief Brian Krueger, officers pulled over a vehicle at 4:22 a.m. on May 25 in the 1600 Block 10th Place NE, because the vehicle crossed over the center line.

During a search of his person, officers found 26.3 grams of methamphetamines. The man was also found to be driving with no license which was cancelled as inimical to public safety, or IPS.

The man’s vehicle has since been forfeited, and he is awaiting a formal complaint at the Mower County Jail.

He faces possible charges of first degree substance possession, fifth degree controlled substance possession and second degree DWI. Results of a urine test are pending.
