Paul L. Larson, 57, of Austin, Minn., passed away Friday, May 30, 2014, at Mayo Clinic Hospital Rochester, Saint Mary’s Campus.
Paul Louis Larson was born on Oct. 22, 1956, in Albert Lea, Minn., to Lars and Helen (Hanson) Larson. Paul attended Austin Schools, and later Austin Community College. He served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Paul was united in marriage to Linda Louise Rosecke on Oct. 17, 1987, at Crane Community Chapel in Austin. Paul and Linda have resided their entire married life in Austin. Paul was employed with Quality Pork Processors for almost 20 years before poor health forced his retirement in 2010. Paul’s hobbies included ham radio, remote control airplanes and helicopters, and motorcycle and bike riding. He was a former member of the Austin Ham Radio Club.
Survivors include is his wife, Linda L. Larson of Austin; siblings, Leslie Larson, Darlene (Scott) Nash, and Mary Miller, all of Austin; nieces and nephews; special friends, Fred and Terry Cantrall, and Debbie Kittrige; his dog, “Dolly.”
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Lars and Helen Larson; paternal and maternal grandparents; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Louis and Marilyn Rosecke.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 14, 2014, at the Salvation Army in Austin with Lieutenants David Amick and Laura Amick officiating. Military honors by American Legion Post 91 at the Salvation Army will follow the service. Interment will take place at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis at a later date. Paul’s family will greet friends on Saturday from noon until 2 p.m. prior to the service at the Salvation Army. Honorary pallbearers are Fred Cantrell, Justin Loeding, Doug Williamson, Randy Gardner, John “Jack” Morgan, and Dennis Matter. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
