Henry Iverson, 89

Henry Iverson, 89, previously of Austin, Minn., died of renal failure Sunday, Dec. 22, 2013, at Memorial Medical Center in Port Lavaca, Texas.
Henry Lowell Iverson was born Jan. 13, 1924, in Bennington Township to Theodore and Dena Iverson.
Henry served in the US Army during WWII, doing special duty during war crimes trials in the Philippines. He married June Carol Francis on Sept. 1, 1950, and they lived in Austin, Minn., where he worked at Hormel for 30 years, retiring in 1980. Henry loved to work in the yard and raised a large garden for many years. He was also an avid reader and enjoyed history and biographies. Henry was a member of the American Legion, and Henry and June were both members of St. Olaf Lutheran Church, even after they moved to Texas to be closer to their children and grandchildren.
Henry was preceded in death by his parents; wife June in 2007; brother’s Leverne and Ray; sister Violet, and sister Doris who died in infancy.
Henry is survived by his sister Marlys Larson of Spring Valley; daughters Debra (Curt) Long of Katy, Texas, Sherri (Benny) Judice of Port O’Connor, Texas; grandchildren Ashlee Long of Katy, Texas, Curtis (Brittany) Long of Houston, Texas, Tara (Adam) Taylor of Austin, Texas, Tasha (Luis) Falcon of Waianae, Hawii, Brian Judice of Port O’Connor, Texas; and three great-grandchildren Simon Taylor, and Adrian and Maddox Falcon.
The Funeral will be at St. Olaf Lutheran Church at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 30, with interment at Grandview Cemetery following the service.
