Amanda Faye Kasel, 28, of Austin, Minn., died Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at St. Mary’s Hospital surrounded by her family.

Amanda was born Nov. 29, 1985, at Methodist Hospital in Rochester, Minn., to Barbara (Jensen) and David Kasel. She was the middle child of three children and lived in Rose Creek until moving to a farm near Taopi, Minn., in 1991. She was baptized at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Amanda attended grade school at Sacred Heart School and high school at Southland Public Schools. She graduated from the Area Learning Center in 2004 and received her medical transcriptionist degree from Riverland Community College in 2011.  She worked at Mayo Clinic Health Systems in Austin. Amanda participated in Just for Kix, volleyball and cheerleading. She enjoyed listening to music, camping with her family and spending time with her daughters. Amanda had a very creative, artistic talent in drawing and sketching and she dreamed of being a fashion designer.

Amanda will always be remembered for her loving and caring nature and her easy smile.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Harold Jensen; and step grandfather, Ray Kraft.

Amanda is survived by her two daughters, Cady Britt, Rochester, Minn., and Navin Britt, Austin, Minn.; parents, David (Gladys) Kasel, LeRoy, Minn., Barbara (Darrell) Kraft, Austin, Minn.; siblings, Dustin (Erin) Kasel, Minnetrista, Minn., and their son Jensen, Adam Kasel, Marshall, Minn.; Emily and Nicholas Kasel, LeRoy, Minn.; grandparents, Dan and Barb Kasel, Adams, Minn., Arlene Jensen, Austin, Minn.; step-grandmother Bernice Kraft, Austin, Minn.; fiancé Nathan Britt, Austin, Minn.

A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 7, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Randal Kasel and Father Swaminatha Pothireddy officiating. Interment will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery. There will be a 4 p.m. prayer service and a rosary to follow at the Adams Funeral Home on Sunday where friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Visitation will also be at the Adams Funeral Home on Monday from 9 to 10 a.m.
