Four CRC board members re-elected

CRC re-elected four board members during its 21st annual membership meeting last month in San Diego, Calif.
Board members re-elected to three-year terms are Steven Wattnem, CEO of Cooperative Light & Power Association in Two Harbors, Minn., as a District 1 director; Tom Harrell, CEO at Alger Delta CEA in Gladstone, Mich., as a District 2 director; and Neil Hesse, general manager at Cooke County Electric Cooperative Association in Muenster, Texas, as an at-large (any district) director.
Jim Hathaway, general manager/CEO at Dunn Energy Cooperative in Menominee, Wis., was elected as an at-large director to a one-year term. Hathaway was recently appointed to his board seat, whichhas a three-year term expiring in 2015. CRC’s bylaws require appointed directors to run for re-election to officially serve the remainder of the seat’s term.
After the annual meeting, CRC’s Board of Directors met and selected the following officers to serve on its executive committee:
Chairwoman: Brenda Swartzlander, president and CEO of United Electric Cooperative in DuBois, Pa., leads a 19,000-consumer electric cooperative that operates in parts of 10 counties in northwestern Pennsylvania. Swartzlander has served as the board’s chairwoman since 2011.
Vice Chairman: Re-elected board member Hesse leads a 15,500-meter electric cooperative that operates in five counties in northeastern Texas. This is Hesse’s first term as board vice chairman.
Secretary: Larry Fenbers, general manager/CEO of Carroll Electric Cooperative in Carrollton, Ohio, leads a 12,000-consumer electric cooperative that operates in six eastern Ohio counties. Fenbers has served as board secretary since March 2014.
Treasurer: Tim Stewart, CEO/general manager of Clark Electric Cooperative in Greenwood, Wis., leads an 8,500-consumer electric cooperative that operates in six counties in central Wisconsin. Stewart has served as board treasurer since 2011.
