The next Gene Roden Memorial Track Meet is scheduled for Thursday. Track meets are sponsored by the Austin Noon Kiwanis and are for ages 3 and up. They are held at the Wescott Athletic Field track.

Field events begin at 6:15 p.m. with running events at 6:30 p.m. Track meets are free.

Sign up for our last ADM day camp which will be held on July 25. During this camp, participants will try their hand at archery, make stepping stones and bird houses as well as play a few different games. The camp is held in Packer Arena. Camp runs from 9 a.m. to 3:55 p.m. This camp is open for ages 9 to 11. Cost is $25 per person and includes lunch and snacks. Come join in the fun.

This Thursday, join the free Nature Play Program at 1:30 p.m. featuring singer and songwriter Ann Zimmerman. Other activities on this afternoon include canoeing, pond scooping and water survival games. At 2:30 p.m., there will be geocaching and water quality testing.

The seniors can also enjoy this program at 9:30 a.m. with a staff led nature tour from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. The theme will be “Discover life in the pond and/or the stream with seasonal naturalist Maria Anderson!”

Enjoy Ann Zimmermann in the evening as well for the evening concert at 7 p.m. in the Ruby Rupner Auditorium. This is also a free program.

The Nature Center will host a “Water Festival” on July 17, 18, and 19. Bring the family and celebrate the importance of clean water, participate in activities and games to earn prizes.

The events are free with different programs each day. Ann Zimmerman will kick off the festival with concerts at 9:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. on July 17; Kenny Salwey on July 18 at 7 p.m. and the Sea Life Minnesota Aquarium on July 19 with programs at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

Municipal Pool open swim hours are from 1 to 4:45 p.m. Monday – Friday; 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday and Wednesday evenings; 1 to 6 p.m. Saturdays and 2 to 7 p.m. Sundays.

We offer adult lap swim from 12 to 1 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday evenings.

Season memberships to the pool are $30, daily afternoon admission is $3 per person and evening admission is $2 per person. Concessions are also available.

Information to know regarding the pool during inclement weather:

•The pool will not open if the air temperature is less than 66 degrees.

•If we are experiencing inclement weather, the pool will not open.

• If there is lightning in the area, the pool will close. Staff will wait 20 minutes after the last bolt of lightning to reopen.

•After the first hour and 45 minutes, if there are less than 25 patrons, the pool will close.
