There is much to do this weekend. A motorcycle ride, raising money to fight cancer and tons more to do with the family means there’s sure to be something that catches everyone’s eyes.

1. Volunteer Appreciation Day

9 to 10 a.m., Friday, Mower County Senior Center

The Senior Center wants to show appreciation for those of you who volunteer at or for the Senior Center with free coffee and muffins. Mike Maas from Catholic Charities RSVP will be available to talk about signing up for a new program. Sign up at the Senior Center front desk so the center knows how many to expect at this fun event.

2. BOSS Ride

9:30 a.m., Saturday, Riverland Community College, Austin

The Bikers of Student Success ride is a fundraiser for Riverland Community College student scholarships. All motorcycle enthusiasts are welcome.

3. Relay for Life Mower County

3 p.m., Saturday, Veteran’s Pavilion/ Band Shell Park

Annual fundraiser to raise awareness and money for cancer research. There will be many events going on, and the luminary ceremony will take place at dusk. Call 507-440-1024 for more information.

4. Golf for cancer

10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Saturday, Meadow Greens Golf Course, North of Ramsey

The class of 1967 is raising funds for cancer research. The class will host a cancer golf outing at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 26, at Meadow Greens Golf Course, just North of Ramsey. The money raised from the event will go toward cancer research. The event is open to the public and cost for non-members is $45 for golf and an electric cart, and a minimum donation of $10 for Meadow Greens members. 5. ArtWorks Festival Workshop for Kids

1 to 4 p.m., Saturday, Austin ArtWorks Center

Have a budding artist in the family? This workshop, for children grades first through fourth, is a perfect way for kids to build confidence and make a new friends as they work together to create a work of art. 6. Matchbox Children’s Theatre Auditions

6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Sunday, Historic Paramount Theatre in Downtown Austin

Auditions for “The Princess Who Had No Name” will be held for children ages 8-18 Sunday evening. Children who participated in the Matchbox Theatre Camp are guaranteed a part, but still must audition. The show, directed by Angela Donovan, will be performed on Aug. 22, 23 and 24.
