The Austin ArtWorks Center has begun a new way to get the community involved in the arts in Austin.

“The Unified Arts of Austin,” is a blog that began last week that, in the words of Education and Marketing Coordinator Grace Heimsness, is an up to date way to give people the information surrounding all the arts in town.

“We wanted to have one place where they can get a snapshot with what’s happening with the arts in Austin,” she said.

The blog covers theater and music among all other aspects regarding the arts. It’s also going to offer down the road volunteer opportunities. It also has a filter opportunity on the lefthand side of the page.

Heimsness said they are hoping to have the site at its final appearance before the Austin ArtWorks Festival but also said the organizers will aim to really have the site take off following the festival on Aug. 23 and 24.

“It’s really a great way for younger families to catch up on and get involved in the arts,” Heimsness said.
