The Austin girls tennis team cruised to a 7-0 victory over Albert Lea and the Packers lost 7-0 to Rochester Mayo in Paulson tennis courts Tuesday.

The Packers (1-1 overall, 1-1 Big Nine) swept five of their seven matches against the Tigers. Megan Fleiner won her No. 2 singles match with a 6-4 win in the third set and Maggie Trom won her third set 6-3 at No. 4 singles.

“The girls were very competitive for the first conference meets of the season,” Austin head coach Levon Larson said. “Both Megan Fleiner and Maggie Trom demonstrated tough mental games in their three set victories against Albert Lea.”

Mayo took every match in two sets against Austin.
