Three local 4-H’ers are gearing up for a big week at the Minnesota State Fair as their first act of duty as Minnesota 4H State Ambassadors.
Tyler Amick, Amy Boullion and Jacob Mueller were all selected from Mower County.
“It’s a very high honor and great opportunity to get out, spread the word of 4H and meet new people,” Mueller said.
According to Mueller, this is the first time a single county has had three Minnesota 4-H State Ambassadors. Out of the 87 counties in Minnesota, only 25-30 people are selected to represent the organization at the state level.
“We have a wonderful county ambassador program, and just a good 4H program in general,” Mueller said.
Amick, who has already served a year as a Minnesota 4-H State Ambassador, is excited to have another go at the position.
“It’s such a great experience to have,” Amick said. “I just love the program and advocating for it.”
Amy Boullion, 17, has worked with 4-H for 14 years and is ready to tackle a new adventure with the organization.
“I’m looking forward to all the new people I’ll meet and experience I’ll have,” she said. “4-H is really a great program.”
As Minnesota 4-H State Ambassadors, the trio will attend the Minnesota State Fair and work as greeters, along with assisting with various tasks. They will also organize and attend different leadership retreats across the state like BLU and YELLO.
