Austin police are investigating a car theft after someone reported a silver Kia Spectra stolen at the 300 block of 27th Street Southwest Saturday.

Police Chief Brian Krueger said the Kia’s owner reportedly last drove the car at 9:30 p.m. The car owner admitted to leaving the car keys inside the Kia.

Krueger said the case is under investigation.
