Letter: To all the Packer fans:

Published 4:21 pm Saturday, October 4, 2008

I found myself at home games disappointed. It’s nice to see so many people there, but it is disappointing to not hear the support from the fans for the home team. The people who come to the Packer games think that it is nothing but a social event to catch up on the past week’s events. I don’t believe that it is bad to talk at the game with friends and family, but show the team support.

To be at a football game for our team is to cheer and root them on and let them hear that their town supports them. Whatever happened to the marching band in uniform on the field getting the crowd going? I think that should be brought back. Our cheerleaders need to work a little harder to get that cheering going too. The half time is there to get the whole crowd pumped up and get them roaring and excited for the team. The band sits in the stands, and you can hardly hear them when they do play. The crowd needs to get excited too. Get the team excited and feel like they have a reason to win.

Those boys should never hear the other team’s support group. Please, at the next game, give the loud support that they really want to hear.
