A crew takes a break from tearing down the former A&W building Wednesday. Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea and Austin bought property at 1005 First Drive NW. In September, Operations Administrator Scot Ramsey said Mayo bought property and several other sites in the 1000 and 900 blocks of First Drive Northwest “to give us more flexibility for growth.” A&W, formerly owned by Gregg Johnson, closed in spring 2013.
